New Clues Emerge in Murder of Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu

The Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja has disclosed that the detectives have obtained new leads into the murder of lawyer Kyalo Mbobu.

Speaking on Monday evening during an interview, Kanja noted that investigations into the gruesome murder of Mbobu were in advanced stages, with several culprits linked to the lawyer’s murder on the radar.

He went on to state that he had already directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to speed up the murder probe of Mbobu and ensure the timely completion of the case.

However, the police boss declined to provide timelines for the investigations, stating that the detectives required adequate time to fully probe the matter.

According to him, it was too early to commit to the timelines since investigations were still ongoing and no significant arrests had so far been made.

“Investigations are in progress, and I have directed the DCI that we need to move with speed, and that is exactly what he is doing. Currently, we are following very useful leads,” said Kanja.

The late lawyer Kyalo Mbobu was fatally shot on September 8, along Magadi Road, Karen, when a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire at his stationary car.

Witnesses said the attackers broke his windshield before firing several bullets.

An autopsy confirmed that he died from severe injuries and excessive bleeding caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
