Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro has announced a fully sponsored trip to Dubai for 11 secondary school principals.
This will reward principals who delivered outstanding results in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
In an official letter, Ndinidi Nyoro mentioned that the Dubai trip, scheduled from 22nd to 27th April 2025, is funded by the Kiharu National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
The initiative aims to recognise the hard work and dedication of school administrators who contributed to improved academic performance in Kiharu and Murang’a East sub-counties.

The official letter included the names of the principals who will be awarded for the trip, which included: Joseph Ng’ang’a (Vidhu Ramji Secondary School), Consolata Wanjiru Ndung’u (Maragi Secondary School), Veronica Nduta Wambugu (Gikandu Secondary School), Kucy Kagwira Kuria (St. Luke Gituri Secondary School) and James Njau Muya (Mweru Secondary School).
Others included Gabriel Kamau, Susan Kinyanjui, Hudson Kamau, Sospeter Maina, Geoffrey Macharia and Samuel Wanjau.
The move has created mixed reactions among Kenyans.
Some believe that principals don’t teach, and instead, subject teachers should be motivated. Others feel that this is a misuse of public funds.
