National Transport and Safety Authority Names Nashon Kondiwa Director General

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has appointed Nashon Kondiwa as the new Director General.

In a notice on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Authority revealed that Kondiwa’s contract will run for three years, effective February 17, 2026.

According to reports, the appointment followed a consultation between the NTSA board of directors and the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Davis Chirchir.

“The NTSA Board of Directors, in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Transport, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Nnashon Kondiwa as the director general of the National Transport and Safety Authority for a term of three years,” the notice read.

Before the appointment, Kondiwa had been serving as the deputy director for Information Communication Technology (ICT) at the authority since April 2021, where he led the digital transformation of NTSA and its delivery systems.

Kondiwa has over 22 years of experience in ICT, innovation, public sector leadership, intelligent transport systems and digital transformation in the transport sector.

In his new role, he will be expected to provide the authority with strategic leadership to implement NTSA’s mandate of managing road transport and enhancing safety in Kenya.

He will also serve as NTSA boss and secretary to the authority’s board.

He will oversee the routine operations, staff and administration of the authority.
