The National Museums of Kenya has cautioned Kenyans against using its images and names for promotional purposes.
In a public notice on Wednesday, February 11, 2027, the National Museums noted that organisers of a certain event are using images and the name of the Nairobi National Museum without the museum’s consent or authorisation.
“It has come to our attention that the Nairobi National Museum’s name and image are being used in promotional material for the East African Biennale event without the museum’s knowledge or consent,” the notice read.
“Please note that the museum is not associated, involved, or affiliated with this event,” it added.
The East Africa Art Biennale is a biennial exhibition held every two years featuring contemporary art from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, among others.
It is set to take place this year from September 15 to November 20.
