Nairobi Water Unveils 295 Vacancies; Here’s How to Apply

Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC) has officially opened applications for 295 positions spread across 31 job categories.

In a notice on Monday, May 4, 2026, the water company stated that that the hiring push is part of its drive to build a stronger team as it works to improve service delivery to residents.

“As part of continued growth and team strengthening, NCWSC is looking for qualified, competent, seasoned and talented professionals capable of operating in the fast paced and demanding environment to fill the following positions,” stated NWSC.

In the latest recruit of 31 job categories, the largest single category is Artisans in Water and Sewer work, with 80 vacancies, followed closely by Driver positions with 70 vacancies, accounting for more than half of all advertised vacancies.

There are also 27 slots for Ungraded Artisans in Water and Sewer, 25 positions for Labourers across various regions, and 18 openings for Data Verification Assistants.

Additionally, for engineers, four Civil Engineering Officer posts, three Mechanical Engineering Officer posts, and three Electrical Engineering Officer posts are available. All come with five-year renewable contracts.

The water company is also in need of one Legal Officer for Corporate Services and two Legal Officers for Dispute Resolution, all on five-year renewable contracts.

There is also one Survey Officer post and two Survey Assistant roles on offer.

Other available roles included six ICT Assistants, five Bulk Metering Operators, five Excavator Operators, four Leak Scouting Operators, three Leak Detection Operators, three Meter Testing Operators, and one Meter Testing Technician, among several other technical and operational positions.

Among the requirements for the job will include up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV), copies of academic certificates, and any other relevant testimonials backing their qualifications for the specific position.

Applicants will also need contact information for three referees, at least one of whom must be a current or former employer.

Nairobi water further clarified that all applications must be received on or before May 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM East Africa Time, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted once the process wraps up.
