The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has announced a major water supply disruption in 14 Nairobi estates for close to 24 hours over pipeline leak.
In a notice by the Nairobi Water, the shutdown is set to begin at 10pm on Monday, 15th June 2026, and will run until midday on Tuesday, 16th June 2026.
According to the company, the disruption has been necessitated by an ongoing leakage on the NCT-Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete transmission pipeline at Gatundu.
“This is to inform you of a temporary water supply interruption that will affect several residential and commercial areas in the City,” the water agency.
“The interruption is due to a leakage on NCT-Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete transmission pipeline at Gatundu”, it added.
Among the affected areas are Westlands and its environs, Lavington, Kilimani, Upperhill and parts of Ngong Road.
Other estates expected to experience the outage include Madaraka, Langata, Kibera, Karen, Uthiru and Kangemi.
The disruption will further extend to areas served by MAVWASCO and Oloolaiser Water Company, widening the scope of the outage beyond Nairobi alone.
The company has now assured residents that normal supply will resume once repair works on the affected pipeline are completed.
