Government Spokesperson, Isaac Mwaura, has dismissed claims of plans to vie for the Kiambu Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
Mwaura broke his silence following the circulation of an opinion poll bearing his name, which alleged that he was among the contenders for the Kiambu senatorial race.
According to reports, the poll, labelled as ‘Swiss Poll International,’ placed Mwaura among several politicians and was widely shared on social media platforms, drawing the attention of online users.
Further reports indicate that a flagged survey report, a Facebook group titled ‘Hon. Isaac Mwaura for Kiambu County Senator 2027’, also emerged, further fueling speculation about his political intentions.
However, the government spokesperson flagged the opinion poll and Facebook page as fake, warning members of the public to be cautious about such misleading information.
“This page is a fraud. Be very careful. Someone is overworking,” Mwaura wrote on his X account.
