Mwaura Defends President Ruto’s Choice to Remove Muturi From Cabinet

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has justified President William Ruto’s decision to fire Justin Muturi as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service.

The head of State sacked Muturi on Wednesday, May 26, 2025, and nominated Mbeere North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku to replace him.

Their rift towards each other followed Muturi’s remarks that he made against the abductions and killings of Gen Z members who were protesting in June and December 2024.

Furthermore, he reported that his son was a victim of the incident.

Speaking in Narok County, Mwaura warned that Civil Servants must respect the President and desist from openly criticizing the Executive they serve.

He noted that the are casualties in all wars and defended the government in the Haiti deployment, assuring families of police officers who have died on duty that the State would compensate them accordingly.

The government spokesperson further urged local politicians to promote culture of peace and support state-driven development initiatives.
