Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has called out former president Uhuru Kenyatta over his constant calls to the youth to rise up for better governance.
The former president has constantly called on the young generation encouraging them to fight for better governance.
According to Uhuru, the youth have great numbers which they could leverage in fighting for good leadership.

However, CS Murkomen has accused him of inciting the youth for selfish gains.
Speaking in Machakos, Murkomen noted that Uhuru was not best placed to lecture others on governance.
The Interior CS noted that Uhuru was president and left power just recently, suggesting that his tenure was not the best for him to feel he is qualified and clean to advise on matters of governance.
“He was the president the other day; the ink he used to sign decisions with has not even dried. Suddenly has become very clever and an angel. He is now the one to lecture us and ask the youth to demonstrate, yet he was the president just recently. This exploitation of our young people is not right. I want to ask leaders across the political divide: this is not an issue of political gain, but an issue we must all act responsibly,” Murkomen noted.
Commenting on the same, lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi supported Murkomen’s remarks arguing that the former president does not have the moral ground to lecture others on leadership.
The lawyer observed that impunity, extrajudicial acts and corruption, among others, were rampant during Uhuru’s era, hence making him lose relevance as far as good governance is concerned.
