Murang’a Senator Nyutu Addresses UDA Exit Demands

Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, a close ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has addressed calls to resign from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

The Senator spoke on Monday, January 5, 2026, where he confirmed that he was still a member of the United Democratic Alliance party.

According to Nyutu, he is set to remain there until he decides to leave at his own will.

The Senator maintained that despite his political differences with the UDA party leader, President Ruto had no right of rushing him out of the party which he used to win the Senatorial seat.

According to reports, Nyutu defended his stance claiming that President Ruto played the same card while he was Deputy President when he fell out with his boss, then the 4th President, Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to the Senator, claims that he began opposing the Kenya Kwanza government after realising that the president had different priorities from those he had promised during the campaign.
