Murang’a MCAs Turned Down President Ruto’s State House Invite

DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has disclosed that the Murang’a County Assembly leaders have declined President Ruto’s invitation to State House.

In a statement on September 12, Gachagua praised the Murang’a MCAs for what he described as their principled stand against alleged corruption and manipulation.

The former DP went on to hail the county representatives for their integrity, claiming they declined a Ksh300,000 bribe.

Gachagua also criticized President Ruto’s ongoing efforts to sit with grassroots leaders from different counties to discuss development projects in various regions.

President Ruto on Friday September 12th hosted grassroots leaders from Murang’a County at State House.

He outlined significant development projects allocated to the region.

Ruto moreover unveiled major financial commitments to Murang’a County’s development agenda, outlining projects worth tens of billions of shillings.

He announced that Ksh 23 billion has been allocated for the construction of 10,300 affordable houses, underscoring the government’s commitment to tackling housing challenges in the region.

Infrastructure will also receive a significant boost, with Ksh 3.5 billion earmarked for countywide road upgrades and Ksh 2.3 billion set aside to build 23 modern markets aimed at enhancing local trade.

On education, the President disclosed a Ksh 3 billion plan to put up new student hostels, while an Ksh 850 million electrification project will connect more than 10,000 households to the national grid by December.

Sports and water infrastructure also featured in the package, with two modern stadiums worth Ksh 1.5 billion to be constructed and a Ksh 2.4 billion water project targeting Kangema, Mathioya, Kiharu, and Kandara constituencies.
