DCP Deputy Leader Cleophas Malala has alleged that Suna East MP Junet Mohamed secretly collaborated with President William Ruto’s camp during the 2022 General Election.
Speaking on Tuesday, January 20, Malala claimed that while Ruto was contesting against the late Raila Odinga, Junet regularly briefed him on internal matters within the ODM Party.
He further alleged that Junet provided Ruto’s team with sensitive operational details, including information about grassroots structures and the deployment of ODM agents across the country.

According to Malala, these actions amounted to a betrayal of the party at a time when Raila Odinga was still alive.
Malala’s allegations come weeks after a public dispute erupted following Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s accusations that Junet Mohamed misappropriated funds meant for election agents during the 2022 polls.
On Saturday, January 3, Sifuna claimed that Junet criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s contributions despite having benefited from them during the campaign.
He noted that a significant portion of ODM’s election financing came from Uhuru, and accused Junet of unfairly condemning the funds after the fact.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna blamed Junet Mohamed for allegedly pocketing funds meant for ODM election agents, claiming this contributed to the party’s defeat in the 2022 polls.
Junet dismissed the accusations, stating that the funds were never under his control but were released by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to his brother, Muhoho Kenyatta, who appointed an individual to manage agent recruitment and payments.
He alleged that despite this, no agents were deployed in key regions, and criticized the restricted handling of logistics.
Junet challenged all involved, including Sifuna, to publicly account for their roles so Kenyans can judge responsibility for ODM’s 2022 loss.
