A fire broke out in the Mradi area of Embakasi on the morning of Monday, November 3, reducing several houses to ashes and destroying property whose value is yet to be determined.
Authorities have yet to establish the cause of the blaze.
The incident adds to a growing list of fire tragedies reported in Embakasi East in recent months.
On March 1, 2025, a similar inferno in the Tassia area left several people injured and property worth millions of shillings destroyed before firefighters managed to contain the flames.
The injured were taken to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.
Embakasi has also witnessed deadly incidents in the past, including a gas explosion in February 2024 in the same Mradi area that claimed six lives and left over 270 people injured.
The explosion occurred when a gas-laden truck ignited, sparking a massive fire that spread rapidly, destroying nearby vehicles, homes, and businesses.
