Mosiria Bags Environmental Sustainability Leadership Award

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has received the Outstanding Leadership Award in Environmental Sustainability.

In a statement issued on Sunday, December 21, Mosiria thanked Tally Track Africa for the recognition, describing the honour as a reflection of shared commitment rather than an individual achievement.

He noted that the award underscores the collective efforts of partners, colleagues, and supporters working toward environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Mosiria said he remains grateful for the support he has received throughout his journey and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing initiatives aimed at building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable society.

Mosiria played a significant role in promoting environmental conservation and sustainable waste management during his tenure as Nairobi County Chief Officer for Environment.

His efforts contributed to advancing environmental sustainability initiatives within the county.

However, on November 18, Governor Johnson Sakaja reassigned Mosiria to the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service docket as part of changes within the county administration.

Elsewhere, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah was honoured with the 2025 Vanguard Warrior of the Year Award by the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) Kenya during an event held on Thursday, December 11.

The award recognised his consistent advocacy for constitutionalism, integrity, and justice.

ICJ Kenya described Omtatah as a fearless defender of the Constitution, while the senator said the recognition serves as a call to uphold the rule of law and dedicated the honour to judges, urging them to remain firm and independent in their decision-making.
