Millie Odhiambo Speaks Out on Growing Gangster Culture in Kenya

Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo has raised concerns on the recent events in which unidentified individuals have been linked to raids at homes and business premises.

According to Millie Odhiambo, the authorities are at fault for tolerating the individuals behind the raids, calling them gangsters and raising the alarm over the trend.

In a statement on her social media account, the suber MP stated that tolerating the gangster culture will one day haunt the country, expressing her fears for the worst.

She noted that recent raids conducted by unidentified individuals, may turn Kenya soon into a country overrun by gangs, necessitating intervention from other nations.

“The rise of Gangster culture tolerated by authority will haunt Kenya. 100 gangsters were used to try and evict a businessman from premises in Kisumu. Similar gangsters were used to hound Hon Tuju yesterday. Soon, like Haiti, we might need other nations to assist us deal with gangsters”, she stated.

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju had vowed not to leave his Karen property, declaring that auctioneers attempting to take over the premises will have to “kill him first” before evicting him.

Tuju maintained his stance that he will remain at the property despite attempts by auctioneers to enforce a court-sanctioned recovery process over a multi-billion shilling debt.

According to Tuju, individuals he identified as Mr. Chebet, Mr. Kiprono, and Mr. Kiprop allegedly invaded the premises, claiming they had purchased the property.

However, he insisted the ownership dispute is still active in court and accused the trio of attempting to intimidate him.

This comes after the former CS faced a huge blow in court, prompting his properties to be auctioned.
