Suba South MP Millie Odhiambo has warned Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga against mistaking her respect for fear or weakness.
Speaking on Tuesday, September 22, Odhiambo described Wanga as a tough and courageous leader while acknowledging her position as the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairperson.
The MP also referred to Wanga as her younger sister but maintained that she would respond whenever she felt confronted or attacked by the governor.

Odhiambo’s remarks come a month after she cautioned leaders in the Broad-based government against relying on attacks and violence to secure victory in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking on Monday, August 17, the Suba South MP condemned the attack on the Linda Mwananchi team in Homa Bay County, warning that growing political intolerance could undermine the country’s democratic space.
She urged leaders to focus on presenting their policies and ideologies to voters instead of using violence against political opponents.
Odhiambo argued that leaders seeking to retain or gain power should convince voters through their ideas rather than intimidation, noting that violence could alienate the same electorate they seek to win over.
She also condemned the alleged attack on journalists covering the Linda Mwananchi rally in Homa Bay.
The legislator described attacks targeting members of the fourth estate as unacceptable, arguing that journalists should be allowed to carry out their duties without intimidation.
She further questioned how political leaders expected favourable media coverage while some were allegedly linked to attacks on journalists covering their activities.
The latest remarks come amid political tensions in Homa Bay as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
