Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has called for increased security for acid attack victim Mary Claire.
Claire, a 24-year-old gospel singer, is currently recovering after an acid attack that occurred on March 17, 2026, along Ngong Road.
According to reports, an unidentified assailant doused her with acid before fleeing.
In a statement on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Millie Odhiambo insisted on the need to protect Claire from any further harm, warning that the attack may not have been an isolated act.
“Security should be increased around Claire. The maniac might just want to proceed and kill her using a hired hand. A family/friend source tells me one or two incidents around her in the recent past have had them worried,” she said.

She also raised concern over claims circulating online regarding the circumstances of the attack, specifically claims of school fee payment by the main suspect.
In the recent case of Claire, who knows for a fact that the person alleged to be behind the attack paid her fees? Yet we all share and retell that story with authority and confidence,” she added.
“I am told from a family source that he did not actually pay her fees. Unfortunately, she is not in a position to speak and confirm or refute this,” the lawmaker added.
