Miguna emphasized that his vision seeks to place the needs of the people at the center of national development, positioning this approach as the foundation for moving the country forward.

Miguna becomes the latest political figure to declare his intention to run for president in the 2027 General Election, joining a growing list of aspirants.

His announcement follows a similar declaration by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, who on November 23, 2025, revealed that he was preparing to challenge President William Ruto in the upcoming polls.

Earlier, on April 28, 2025, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya also declared his presidential ambitions, stating that he made the decision after wide consultations and careful consideration of the country’s situation.

Salasya said his move was informed by deep reflection and a desire to offer leadership he believes Kenya needs.

Other politicians eyeing the presidency in 2027 include former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, former Chief Justice David Maraga, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah, PLP leader Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and activist Boniface Mwangi have also expressed interest in the race.
