Migori Youth and Shabana Share Points in Entertaining Draw

Migori Youth and Shabana FC played out a 1-1 draw in their FKF Premier League encounter at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Thursday, October 29, as both sides continued their search for a first victory in recent league matches.

Shabana took the lead in first-half stoppage time through Sigmunn Maina, who finished after Hafiz Alhasan helped create the opportunity following a delivery from Byron Otieno.

Migori returned from the break determined to level the test and came close through Dennis Oguta, whose header from an Elly Owande delivery was saved by Shabana goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila.

Shabana also threatened to extend their advantage, but defender Frederick Ngiela saw his effort cleared off the line by George Onyango following a corner.

Migori’s persistence finally paid off in the 72nd minute when Churchill Otieno scored on his league debut for his boyhood club.

He converted from close range after Nehemiah Onchiri’s long throw was flicked on by Clinton Okoth.

The hosts pushed for a late winner, but Ndzila produced an important save to deny Maxwell Odada in the 83rd minute.

Neither team managed to find another goal, forcing them to settle for a point each.

The result extended both clubs’ runs of consecutive draws to three matches.

Migori remained without a maiden top-flight victory, while Shabana missed another opportunity to return to winning ways.
