Meru Family Calls for Probe Into Death of Relative in Police Custody

The family of the late Silvester Peter Mwenda, whose body was found dumped at the Nyambene Level 4 Hospital Morgue, is seeking justice.

The deceased’s body was discovered a day after being arrested by Police officers drawn from Maua Police Station, leading to his mysterious death under police custody.

According to reports, the 30-year- old robbery suspect succumbed to injuries following a mob attack incident.

According to his wife, Glory was with her slain husband when men who identified themselves as police officers picked him up at his home on Friday night in Kinna, Igembe, Meru County.

That was the last time the deceased’s wife saw him.

According to police reports, Mwenda was a robbery suspect, who cooperated in arresting another suspect with 2 firearms, a G3 and AK 47 gun, but unfortunately succumbed to injuries following a mob attack incident.

However , his family disputes the claims and says he might have died as a result of mob attack demanding justice.
