Chwele-Kabuchai Ward MCA-elect Eric Wekesa has been summoned by DCI officers to appear at Kapsabet Police Station in Nandi County over allegations of coffee theft in the Tinderet area.
Wekesa said on Monday, December 1, that the claims were alarming, noting that he has no links to coffee farming or the coffee trade and has never been to the area where the alleged offence took place.
He explained that he initially dismissed the phone call informing him of the summons, believing it might be from a scammer, since he has never engaged in coffee farming, selling, or any related business.

Wekesa said the matter took a different turn when he discovered that an official summons had actually been issued to him.
He claimed the development strengthened his suspicion that political rivals were orchestrating a scheme to interfere with his planned swearing-in.
He noted that he has never been to Tinderet or Nandi and now believes the situation poses a threat to his safety.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially gazetted all winners of the by-elections held on Thursday, November 27.
The results, published in a Special Issue of the Kenya Gazette on Monday, December 1, confirm the newly elected Senators, Members of the National Assembly, and County Assembly representatives.
