Martha Karua has called out lawyer Miguna Miguna for linking her to the 2007 Post-Election Violence.
Miguna, in a recent interview with Citizen TV, stated that Karua is not fit for the Presidency, accusing her of involvement in the chaos that marred the country after the 2007 elections.
“Martha Karua cannot be a choice; she was involved in the atrocities of 2007 and does not represent anything. She abused power when she was Minister of Justice; she abused power in her personal relationship with GBM Kariuki, who was a former judge,” Miguna claimed.

While responding to the claims, Karua distanced herself from the violence that rocked the country, accusing ODM supporters of pre-planning and executing the atrocities.
“Miguna was a key player in The ODM party in 2007 and therefore knows that the violence was preplanned and executed by The ODM party supporters. I immediately called out the ODM Party and its leadership for the violence and atrocities,” Karua noted.
She moreover noted that she was among those who called for the rule of law to be upheld by advising those aggrieved by the poll results to seek recourse in court rather than resorting to violence.
Karua went on to condemn Miguna for spreading information she termed as malicious and false.
She further dismissed claims by Miguna that she abused power during her tenure as Justice Minister.
According to her, the matter in question related to a false statement in court by an accused on trial for assault causing grievous harm.
In the case, Karua says, there was a complainant who had injuries confirmed by a medical report, adding that she was neither a party nor a witness.
