Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United.
The 27-year-old has joined on loan until the end of the 2024/2025 season, with a buyout option.
The deal will see 75% of his salary covered by Villa with a £40m buy option clause in June.
Rashford has made 15 Premier League appearances for Manchester United this season, starting with a goal in head coach Ruben Amorim’s first match, a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town on November 24, before adding two more in a dominant 4-0 victory over the following week.
However, having not seen action since his omission from the squad for the Manchester derby on December 15, the England forward resorted to a new challenge to find playing time.
Several clubs across Europe came calling for his signature, but Marcus settled on the Unai Emery side, who is his former coach.
“I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen. I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision as I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.” Marcus Rashford stated.
Rashford is versatile enough to play anywhere across the front line. He has registered 17 goals for the national team to add to representing his country in two World Cups and two European Championships.
