Police in Kisumu East have launched investigations after a man attacked and stabbed his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend after she dumped him.
According to reports by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the man found it hard to accept that the lady had moved on and followed her to her new boyfriend’s home in Nyakbong’ village.
The incident, which is said to have occurred at 4:45 pm on Friday, April 19, left the woman in a critical condition after being stabbed twice, in the ear and the chest.
Reports indicate that the suspect had intended to kill his former lover, but the woman’s screams prompted neighbours to intervene and disrupt the attack before he could complete the act.
When the neighbours arrived at the house, they found the man in the middle of the assault and quickly managed to rescue the lady.
Upon seeing that, the suspect immediately fled the scene, leaving the lady severely bleeding.
The victim was rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Training and Referral Hospital in critical condition, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The police, alongside the community members, are actively searching for the suspect.
