Man Posing as KDF Brigadier Arrested

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested a man accused of impersonating a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) brigadier.

According to the DCI statement issued on Tuesday, November 18, the suspect, identified as Joshua Muimi, had been duping unsuspecting Kenyans by issuing fake KDF recruitment letters.

Investigators say Muimi presented himself as a senior military officer and took advantage of hopeful youths seeking admission to the Recruit Training School (RTS) in Eldoret.

Acting on intelligence, officers tracked him to his rented apartment in Kilimani, where they found him dressed in full Kenya Air Force uniform, allegedly using the disguise to bolster his deception.

During the search, detectives recovered several items believed to have been used in the suspect’s scheme.

Among them were documents marked with the Ministry of Defence logo, multiple fake admission letters carrying identical serial numbers, fingerprint forms, and an ammunition manufacturing manual from Yilmaz Defence Industry.

Muimi was arrested and placed in custody, where he is currently being processed ahead of his expected court appearance.
