The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have apprehended a con artist scammed job seekers Ksh2.5 million in a daring police recruitment scam on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The suspect was taken into custody after three victims complained of being defrauded.
According to reports by Kenyan.co.ke, the suspect forged the recruitment letters, and convinced the victims to part with hefty sums of money, assuring them that their slots were secured in the service.
Responding to the matter, detectives ambushed the suspect, arresting him at the Sagret Hotel in Kilimani.
They recovered additional twenty fake police recruitment letters while the other managed to slip through before the officers could pin him down.
The suspect is currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
