A man has been reported dead inside a police station in Kisumu.
The man had been arrested for an alleged stock theft and taken to Katito Police Station in Kisumu.
Reports indicate that he was found hanging from the cell door grill using a vest.
According to police constables Juliana Koka and Andrew Okong’o, they were alerted by Sergeant Nixon Lukwa, who heard the commotion from the cells.
When the officers rushed to the scene, they discovered the deceased’s body from the cell grill with a vest tied tightly around his neck.
According to reports, efforts were made to rescue the victim, but unfortunately, he succumbed to the injuries.
His body was moved to the Nyando morgue as the investigation continues.
