Mama Idah Odinga Ordained as Canon by the Anglican Church

Mama Idah Odinga has been appointed as Honorary Canon of the Anglican Church of Kenya.

The event took place in Homabay County in the Diocese of South Nyanza on 20th October.

It was organized to recognize Idah Odiga’s work and how she has dedicated herself to church over the years.

The former Prime Minister’s wife welcomed everyone with a post on her social media account.

Ephesians 2: 10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Mama Idah Odinga wrote in her social media account (Facebook)

It is with great Honor and Humility that I invite you to my ordination ceremony as an Honorary Canon. The ceremony will take place at Christ the Healer Cathedral in Homabay.

She added in her statement as she also posted her invitation card.

With the invitation to the event, the event was attended by her family, church members and other recognizable leaders such as Mrs. Gladys Wanga who is the Governor of Homabay County.

Being appointed as Canon, Madam Idah Odinga was assigned to St. Teressa of Calcutta.

She took a vow dressed in the Canon Uniform which were dominated by red, black and white attire whereby she promised to serve the church and God.

Honorary Canon is a person recognized for their service to the church and is given a special talent.

The title is based on the rules that the church runs by.
