Major Drug Bust: Two Suspects Found With Bhang Worth Ksh42M

The Directorate of Criminal Investiagations (DCI) have apprehended two suspects who were found in possession of bhang valued at ksh.42 million.

According to the authority, detectives conducting an anti-narcotics crackdown found the stash inside a house in Kisumu Ndogo, leading to the arrest of Eisha Mzungu Kalama and her accomplice, Jamal Chilumo Chiraga.

“In a well-coordinated intelligence-led operation, Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) based in Kilifi raided a house in Kisumu Ndogo area of Kilifi town, where they arrested the two suspects: Eisha Mzungu Kalama and her accomplice, Jamal Chilumo Chiraga”, part of the statement read.

During the operation, detectives recovered two and a half sacks of cannabis sativa wrapped in brown khaki paper, weighing 142 kilograms, ready for distribution.

The suspects were arrested immediately and taken to Kilifi Police Station awaiting processing and arraignment in court.

Additionally, the recovered narcotics were also taken to be used as evidence in court.

“The uspects were immediately escorted to Kilifi Police Station together with the recovered narcotics, where they are undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment.The seized narcotic drugs are being held as exhibits as investigations continue into the suspected trafficking network”, the statement added.
