Maina Kiai Named as the New KHRC Board Chairperson

The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) has appointed Maina Kiai as the new chairperson of its board of directors.

In a statement released on Thursday, August 7, KHRC noted that Betty Okero will deputize Kiai.

Kiai takes over leadership of the human rights sector at a time when the nation and region face serious governance abuses, widespread rights violations, and deep-rooted corruption.
