Liverpool star Diogo Jota has passed away in a car crash in Spain.
According to reports, Jota, who was only 28, was killed in a car crash in Spain early Thursday, July 3, alongside his brother Filipe, who is also a professional soccer player in Portugal.
His death was announced who were devastated to announce of his passing.
“Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. Liverpool FC will be making no further comment at this time and request the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss”, part of the statement read.
According to other reports, the car left the road due to a tire blowout while overtaking, the caught fire killing both occupants in the vehicle.
The victims were then identified as Diogo Jota and his younger brother, who was just 26.
His death comes just after he recently married his longtime girlfriend Rute Cradoso, with whom they have three children.
