Former Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal has been cleared of a Ksh84.5 million corruption case.
This followed his legal team’s argument that the State had not presented sufficient evidence to link him directly to the alleged fraudulent transactions.
Therefore, court ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove the allegations of corruption and conflict of interest against Lenolkulal.
The former Samburu Governor had been imprisoned following a ruling in August 2024 by the Anti-Corruption Court, which found him guilty of receiving Ksh83 million for the supply of petroleum products to Samburu County during his time in office.
He had also been banned from applying for any public office for ten years.
