Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has cautioned President William Ruto over the escalating political violence ahead of the by-elections set for Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Speaking on Saturday, November 22, Kuria noted that the international community is closely monitoring how Kenya will manage the upcoming polls.
He pointed to rising tensions in Narok, Embu and Bungoma counties, where by-elections are scheduled next week.

Kuria recalled the volatile events of 2007, expressing concern over recent incidents, including threats reported in Narok and the attack on Governor George Natembeya in Kabuchai.
He urged the President to take the situation seriously, warning that Kenya’s conduct during the by-elections could draw significant international scrutiny.
The warning follows an incident in Kabuchai, Bungoma County, where Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya came under attack.
Natembeya had been campaigning for DAP-K MCA aspirant Eric Wekesa when a group of disruptors stormed the event.
After the attack, DAP-K released a statement accusing National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula of being behind the confrontation.
