Kisumu All Stars traveled to Embu for a Kenya National Super League match against 3K FC, where they faced not only a 3-1 defeat but also a loss of valuables as their vehicle was broken into at Moi Stadium.
The Kisumu-based team has been experiencing several challenges, particularly since the County Government of Kisumu stopped its support for the club. This has created difficulties in meeting their logistical needs.
The team only made the trip with 12 players, and in a gesture of sportsmanship, 3K FC offered to provide meals for them.
Unfortunately, after suffering a significant defeat against 3K FC on the pitch, the players returned to find their vehicle had been broken into. Bags belonging to the players as well as the car’s music system, including speakers, were stolen.
The total value of the stolen items has yet to be determined, but the incident has been reported to the Embu police and is currently under investigation.
A communication from one of the officials stated:
“Evening everyone, thank you for the support from all who came through. Unfortunately, our players experienced difficulties; however, we leave everything in God’s hands. It is regrettable that all the players’ bags were stolen from the vehicle where they had parked it while they attended the game. Additionally, the vehicle was tampered with. That is why they have now departed, as they are still reporting the incident and trying to follow up. That is the current situation. Thank you.”
