Residents of Ngurubani town in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, are in shock after a man allegedly murdered his wife and two children before attempting to take his own.
According to reports, chaos erupted late in the night when loud screams were heard from the suspect’s house.
Moments later, the man reportedly emerged from the house with a rope tied around his neck and severe burns on his body.
Alarmed residents quickly mobilized and entered the house.
Upon entrance, the residents discovered three bodies believed to be the wife and two children, burnt beyond recognition.
Reports indicate it may have been triggered by a domestic dispute.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident.
