Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reassured that the state funeral service for the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be held on Friday, October 17, at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi as had been communicated earlier.
According to the Deputy President, the service will begin at 9am.
“All guests are required to be seated by 8am. This two-hour state event will comprise military honours, a church sermon from the Anglican Church of Kenya, eulogy by the family, designated condolences, and speeches from the leadership of Kenya and foreign heads of state and government,” Kindiki said.
Kindiki further informed Kenyans that tomorrow, being a State Funeral service, more Kenyans who want to pay their respects to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be allowed to do so starting at 12 noon.
