KFCB Unveils Digital Licensing System for Filmmakers

The Kenya Film Classification and Licensing Board (KFCB) has officially launched its licensing services on eCitizen.

In a statement, the board said the move is part of its wider push to automate services and make life easier for film practitioners across the country.

Filmmakers, film agents, distributors, and exhibitors can now apply for their licenses directly online via the Technical Management System (TMS) at tms.kfcb.go.ke, as well as the eCitizen portal at kfcb.ecitizen.go.ke.

“KFCB continues to automate and digitise its services to enhance service delivery and promote ease-of-doing business for film practitioners and other industry stakeholders. This has made the process of obtaining licences from the Board more efficient, convenient, and cost-effective for filmmakers, film agents, exhibitors, and distributors,” stated KFCB.

Stakeholders can apply for licences conveniently at the click of a button through the Board’s Technical Management System (TMS) via tms.kfcb.go.ke.

According to KFCB, the shift is meant to boost service delivery and promote ease of doing business within Kenya’s growing film and audio-visual industry.

This means anyone in the industry, whether a local producer or an international production crew, can process their paperwork from wherever they are, at any time.
