Kericho Governor Erick Mutai was impeached by Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) for the second time, Friday, August 15, 2025.
The impeachment motion, which was moved by Sigowet MCA Kiprotich Rogony, received overwhelming support with a total of 33 MCAs voting in favour of removing the governor from office.
Chaos erupted in the Assembly immediately after the Speaker confirmed that Mutai had been impeached. .
