Police officer Jackson Konga has been sentenced to thirty years in prison for killing his superior.
The incident which occurred on August 8, 2023, followed a heated argument between the officers.
Konga admitted that a confrontation had taken place that morning after Kimeli had questioned his handling of two suspects brought to the K9 unit during the night.
He admitted that he was at Gate B when the officers arrived with the suspects who were allegedly involved in a theft case.

When Kimeli arrived for his normal routine inspection, he demanded to know why the suspects had not been escorted to the Nakuru Police Station, but before he could explain, Kimeli insulted him and grabbed his firearm arm, and that’s when the confrontation escalated.
This led to the gun being pointed at Kimeli’s chest, who pulled the trigger during the altercation.
But according to witnesses, fellow officers who were present confirmed that the altercation had angered Konga, who then cocked his firearm and walked out of the report office.
The court heard that Kimeli followed him, and it was at this point that Konga turned and shot him.
