President Ruto’s administration is set to sign a multi-billion-dollar deal with the Chinese government for the construction of a state-of-the-art Foreign Affairs complex in Nairobi.
The deal is set to be sealed during Ruto’s state visit to Beijing in China, where he will meet senior Chinese government officials, including the country’s President Xi Jinping.
However, the exact cost of the agreement is yet to be established.

Ruto’s five-day state visit to China is aimed at enhancing trade and investment between the two countries and advancing cooperation in the fields of infrastructure.
The president departed for China on Monday, April 21, to meet Xi Jinping and unlock several new opportunities for Kenya.
His departure was announced by the State House Spokesperson, Hussein Mohamed.
In a statement, Hussein noted that during Ruto’s tour in Beijing, he will hold bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping to advance shared priorities in economic transformation, sustainable development, and global cooperation.
He also revealed that during the visit, Ruto will officiate the Kenya-China Business Forum, which brings together over 100 companies from both countries to explore new opportunities in trade, investment, digital innovation, and industrial growth.
