Kenya Railways Corporation has cautioned the public over a fake job advertisement circulating online, warning that it is not conducting any recruitment exercise at the moment.
In a notice issued on Thursday, May 7, the corporation distanced itself from the fraudulent advert, which falsely claims to offer multiple job vacancies within the organisation.
The fake notice, widely shared on social media, lists several positions including managers, graduate trainees, drivers, receptionists, cleaners, and data entry clerks, and directs applicants to submit their applications via a Gmail address.

Kenya Railways has dismissed the advert as fraudulent and urged Kenyans to ignore it, warning job seekers to remain vigilant against scammers targeting unsuspecting members of the public.
The corporation has urged members of the public to rely only on official communication channels for employment updates and corporate announcements, warning against a fake job advert circulating online.
They advised job seekers to ignore the fraudulent notice and avoid sharing personal details or submitting applications to unauthorized email addresses.
Moreover, Kenya Railways emphasized that genuine job vacancies are only advertised through official government communication platforms and its verified channels, distancing itself from the misleading recruitment claims being shared on social media.
The warning comes shortly after the Kenya Revenue Authority flagged a fake appointment letter circulating online, which falsely claimed to offer a job within its Department of Marketing.
The forged document was designed to appear authentic, complete with official branding and detailed employment terms, including salary structure, reporting instructions, probation conditions, and required clearance documents, in an attempt to deceive unsuspecting job seekers.
