Kenya Railways Opens Applications for Positions Linked to SGR Development

Kenya Railways has announced nine senior managerial vacancies at Grade RG3, as it’s expansion plans continue to gain momentum across the country.

According to a statement by Kenya Railways, six of the nine roles are re-advertisements, implying earlier recruitment rounds did not yield satisfactory candidates.

Among them were the Rail Safety Manager, Passenger Services Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager, QMS and Risk Coordination Manager, and Signalling Electrical and Communication Manager, and Technical Audit Manager.

Apart from the re-advertised posts, Kenya Railways is also seeking a Stores and Inventory Manager, a Train Operations Manager, and an Accounts Manager, reflecting a deliberate push to strengthen its internal operations and financial management capacity.

As per the advertisement, every applicant must submit a signed application letter alongside a detailed CV listing previous employers, positions held, education level, current and expected salary, notice period, and at least three professional referees.

According to Kenya Railways, copies of academic and professional certificates must accompany each application, together with a National ID or Passport copy as any application missing in these documents will not be considered.

Additionally, all shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original documents at the interview. Successful candidates must further obtain Chapter Six clearance certificates from DCI, HELB, KRA, EACC, and an approved Credit Reference Bureau before resuming their jobs.

Kenya Railways further warned fraudsters misusing the Company name to solicit money, as recruitment ills targeting public sector applicants remain a persistent problem in Kenya.

According to the corporation, it does not charge any fees for any stage of the advertised jobs.
