Kenya Power has urged Nairobi residents to brace for occasional power disruptions as it begins maintenance work in parts of the city.
The maintenance work is set to improve the reliability of its electricity network.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the company said the maintenance exercise will affect areas around Roysambu and Githurai and will run for about three weeks.
According to Kenya Power, the works will run from 7am to 5pm on weekdays and Saturdays, with the exercise expected to be completed in the first or second week of October.
Additionally, it said it had already deployed a team to focus on maintaining various transformers serving the two areas as part of efforts to enhance the local electricity supply.
“Our teams are carrying out planned maintenance works on various transformers in the Roysambu and Githurai areas this week, under the Boresha Roysambu exercise,” Kenya Power stated.
“The works are running for three weeks, from 7 am to 5 pm, until Saturday. The work is focused on maintaining the network and addressing issues that could affect power supply in the area,” it added.
Kenya Power further urged Nairobi residents living in Roysambu, Githurai and surrounding areas to exercise patience and understanding as its technicians carry out the planned works.
