This they said in a protest letter which they tabled in the High Court stating that they wanted Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) to investigate Starlink over alleged predatory pricing.
The considerably low prices offered by Starlink which are predatory in nature, will make it difficult for local internet service providers to compete on both price and service and ultimately kill competition by undermining the efforts of local companies.
The CEO stated as quoted by Business daily.
Starlink entered Kenyan Market in 2023 where it gained a market share of 0.5%.
The sector continued growing following the rollout of new technology and services.
Starlink therefore announced a standard 50GB plan for Kenyans at Ksh. 1300 per month.
A few Kenyans reached to Elon Musk on his social media platform X urging him to give another offer following an internet outage from broadband providers which Musk launched a new package dubbed Starlink Mini, which was half the standard plan price.
