National carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) has alerted passengers to expect flight delays due to low visibility disrupting operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a statement issued on Friday, April 10, the airline said the situation has affected both departures and arrivals at the airport.
As a safety measure, KQ confirmed that some flights have been diverted to Moi International Airport.

The airline emphasized that flight diversions are standard safety precautions aimed at ensuring the well-being of passengers and crew, noting that safety remains its top priority.
KQ also noted that its operational teams are closely monitoring weather conditions and expect to resume normal flight schedules once visibility improves at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The national carrier also issued an apology to customers affected by the disruptions, expressing regret over the inconvenience and appreciating passengers’ patience as the situation is managed.
The latest disruption follows a similar incident last month when heavy overnight rainfall in Nairobi impacted flight operations.
During that period, several scheduled flights were affected, with some aircraft diverted to Moi International Airport due to adverse weather conditions.
KQ further advised passengers departing from JKIA to anticipate possible changes to their travel plans while efforts continue to restore normal operations.
The airline maintained that safety remains the top priority in all operational decisions, including flight delays and diversions caused by weather-related challenges.
