Kenya Airways has released the recording of the onboard tribute to the Late Raila Amolo Odinga during flight KQ203 that flew his body from India to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on October 16, 2025.
During the reading it the tribute narrated by Captain Saviemaria Ondego, the tribute revealed how the former Prime Minister’s influence transcended across Kenya and Africa.
The tribute outlined how Raila was a firm believer in the national airliner, citing how his advocacy played a key role in the aviation sector.
Kenya Airways further expressed condolences to Raila’s family and the entire nation at large for the loss of a respected leader.
The former Prime Minister passed away after collapsing in the Indian city of Kochi, where he had been under treatment for an undisclosed illness.
On October 17, 2025, a State Funeral Service was held to honour him, where his remains were transported to Kisumu, Mamboleo Stadium on October 18, for public viewing.
