The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the restoration of a Globe Roundabout along Thika Superhighway.
In a notice on March 25, 2026, the KeNHA said that motorists can now travel along the section, which is a major route as into Nairobi’s Central Business District.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify motorists and the public that traffic flow at Globe Roundabout along Thika Superhighway (A2) has been restored. Motorists can now resume normal travel along this section”, the notice read.
Reports indicate that the roundabout had been temporarily closed on March 12 to allow for reinstatement works at the Nairobi River Bridge.
KeNHA had advised drivers to proceed carefully when approaching the area and follow instructions from traffic police and marshals stationed along the affected sections to help manage traffic.
During the closure, commuters contended with extended travel times due to traffic snarl-ups in a scramble to utilise alternative routes along Thika Superhighway, Kipande Road and surrounding roads leading into the CBD.
