The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) has announced the temporary closure of a section of the Uhuru Highway.
The closure will be between the University Way and Kenyatta Avenue roundabouts on the Mombasa-bound carriage way on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
The notice declared that the road will be closed from 9:00 am to 10:30 am to allow procession to commemorate World Engineering Day.
On the notice, KENHA advised motorists to exit the highway at the Boulevard Hotel onto Harry Thuku Road, Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue to rejoin the highway at Kenyatta Avenue roundabout.

“KENHA advises motorists to approach the section with caution and follow the proposed traffic management plan herein and cooperate with the police and traffic marshalls on site”, part of the notice read.
KENHA further warned motorists that the Juja-Gatundu Road will be temporarily closed from Juja stage junction to Gatundu to allow installation of the cross culvert during the weekend.
The roads will be reopened on Monday, March 3, at 8:00 pm.
All motorists will be required to cooperate with the police to ensure smooth traffic flow.
