The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will be deployed in Nakuru to oversee the construction and completion of two stadiums and a hospital project.
The announcement came on Wednesday, July 16, following a meeting between Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya and Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika.
“The Cabinet Secretary and the Governor discussed priority Government infrastructure projects to be implemented by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) through Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in Nakuru County,” the statement read.

The concentration projects include Afraha Stadium and the construction of the Olenguruone Stadium.
Also high on the agenda is the finalization of the Trauma Centre at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital that has remained incomplete since 2012.
According to the county boss, the projects will be essential in elevating the infrastructure capacity of the county, as well as improving service delivery.
Notably, the announcement comes days after the ministry also revealed that more soldiers will be sent to Kakamega, Nandi, and Uasin Gishu counties to oversee various infrastructural developments.
