The Kenya Defence Forces has announced the tragic deaths of three recruits during a routine exercise at the Defence Forces Recruits Training School in Eldoret.
In a statement, the KDF disclosed the recruits developed medical complications during training and were subjected to immediate on-site medical attention.
The recruits were subsequently rushed to Eldoret Regional Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead despite intensive medical attention.
“The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is deeply saddened to announce the tragic loss of three recruits during a scheduled training activity at the Defence Forces Recruits Training School (DFRTS) in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County on January 29,” the statement read.
KDF has notified the families of the deceased and extended support during the period of mourning.
The authority further confirmed that an investigation has since been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
